Wes Johnston

Wes is a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship through the Oregon State Honors college. He is very open to the different career paths ahead of him, and has taken on a wide range of work and volunteer experience to reflect it. His past work experiences range from land clearing with the family business to assisting in a research lab the summer after his freshman year. He currently works as an intern at the OSU Advantage Accelerator, where he helps develop local startup businesses.

In his free time, Wes has also become very involved in his community through volunteer work. He tutored at Linus Pauling middle school and also helps run the destination imagination project at Lincoln Elementary school. Each term, Wes also actively volunteers at the blood drive as well as at the Corvallis Boys and Girls Club. Through these volunteering opportunities, he has made sure to not lose touch with his real passion: working with people.

Wes moved from his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska to Lake Oswego, Oregon 8 years ago. He is a lover of sports, and played football and baseball in high school. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, going on hikes to explore Oregon, and hanging out with his brothers in his fraternity.
