High School Women who are members of a FIRST Robotics Team

Application deadline is May 1, 2016

The Women and Minorities in Engineering Program will select one winner to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used during the 2017-18 academic year. 



Eligibility Requirements

  1. Be a resident of Oregon, who attended high school in state for the prior three years.
     
  2. Membership on high school FIRST Robotics Team.
     
  3. Be a graduating senior who will enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study in engineering at Oregon State University.
     
  4. Have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.5.

Selection Criteria for the Gilleland Engineering Scholar

A. Responses to the application essay: How did being on the Robotics Team impact your decision to be an engineer?

B. Letter of reference from First Robotics Team Mentor or high school teachercovering items such as scholastic ability, general character, attitude, ambition, motivation and leadership characteristics.

C. Transcript – Official copy of applicant's high school transcript(s) showing grades for the entire enrollment in all high schools attended.

D. Resume – updated resume including activities in high school.

E. Optional – include anything else you would like us to know such as any special achievements not already covered, unusual family circumstances, or any information which might be useful to us in considering your application

Mailing Instructions (must be postmarked by March 1, 2015): All above items (A-D) are needed to apply and please send materials in one packet. Photocopies are permitted. Mail all application materials to:
